Charles A. Walker owns and operates Walker’s Electrical a progressive limited liability corporation that is licensed, bonded and insured. In addition, the company is registered as a service disabled veteran; minority owned Central Contractor with the Small Business Association. Mr. Walker has over 20 years of experience in the electrical field. He served in the United States Navy as a construction electrician, managing and coordinating electrical projects world wide. In the Navy, he was able to develop both his experience base and education in the electrical arena. There, he received formal education in diesel mechanics, electrical trouble shooting, mobile generation, mobile lighting repair, air conditioning and refrigeration, electricity and electronics, motor controllers and high power distribution. Along with that extensive education, Mr. Walker was also able to receive practical experience which included teaching and supervising apprentice seamen. This is where Charles started fine-tuning and shaping his future. By managing projects in locations such as Japan, Hawaii and Puerto Rico to name a few, he was able to work, learn, teach and lead different types of projects/personnel in different environments with different cultures.
In 1996, Mr. Walker received an honorable discharge from the Navy and has continued to work in the electrical field. First with Joyce Co. as a maintenance technician where he provided routine maintenance, repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment such as welders, overhead cranes, computer milling machines and hydraulic presses.

From there, Charles moved on to Menlo World Wide (formerly Emery World Wide), where in record breaking time he achieved and maintained the position of Electrical Maintenance Supervisor.
Always moving forward, today Mr. Walker has positioned his company into a mode for industrial/commercial expansion. To keep the company up-to-date on the latest technology and electrical theory, Mr. Walker continues to educate himself in a professional environment. His firm belief is that one must lead by example and that if you dare to teach, you must never cease to learn. Hence, he is currently completing an Associates Degree in Technical Studies at Sinclair Community College with emphasis in electrical engineering, electrical repair and small business administration.
The company is constantly providing apprentice /assistant positions and opportunities to area youths interested in the electrical field - particularly those that are labeled as “disadvantaged” or “troubled”. Mr. Walker enjoys teaching youth the aspects of the trade and encouraging them to pursue careers in the Engineering field, where there is an extreme shortage of African-Americans in professional positions.
